Customizable Witchy Crochet Bag add-on PDF PATTERN - Interchangeable between Crossbody/Shoulder Bag and Backpack! | Intermediate (English)

** PLEASE NOTE: This is an add-on pattern that can go with any of my whimsical granny squares (meaning that none of the granny square patterns will be directly included within this pattern as this is the instructions on how to assemble the whole bag and straps with necessary info included about the granny squares used). With that said, you can use any granny squares you would like; however, for it to match the stitch count within this pattern, ideally the granny square should have 15 stitches on each side of the square at the last round (not including the corner chs). This will ensure that the drawstring holes will match up as directed in the pattern. You can definitely use different stitch counts but be prepared to do a little improvising! **

This pattern is very customizable in many ways such as allowing you to use your own choice of granny squares and arrange them to your preference (while also still showing the diagram of the base layout that I used so it can be made the exact same way that I made it). The bag also has removable straps that are interchangeable so that it can transform into either a crossbody/shoulder bag or a backpack making this an extremely versatile project. Instructions for 2 strap variations are included; the first strap option is more basic/easy where as the alternative option shows you how to create a strap using mini versions of the granny squares used to create your bag (achieved by using a smaller hook/thinner yarn). This pattern also includes a fabric lining section that demonstrates how to line your bag + straps and how to add interfacing to offer more structure. The lining section is shown with the use of a sewing machine, but it can be hand sewn as well - I give tips on how to do that!

With 30 pages of very detailed instructions and with visual learners in mind, I have included many photos throughout the steps! I have classified this pattern to be at an intermediate level though I think an advanced beginner could give it a try due to the added use of visuals :). Pattern is written in US terms (English) - You should know the following stitches for this pattern: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and triple crochet. 

I use worsted weight level 4 cotton yarn for the majority of the bag but you are welcome to use any yarn you would like (I recommend sticking with worsted weight). Pattern includes a detailed material list of everything you will need and the quantities needed!
