This is a pattern for a crochet bookmark using mini sunflower granny squares!
This pattern also includes a fabric lining section that demonstrates how to line your bookmark and how to add interfacing to offer more structure. The lining section is shown with the use of a sewing machine, but it can be hand sewn as well - I give tips on how to do that! Fabric lining is entirely optional!
With visual learners in mind, I have included very detailed instructions and many photos throughout the steps! I have classified this pattern to be at an intermediate level though I think an advanced beginner could give it a try due to the added use of visuals :).
Pattern is written in US terms (English) - You should know the following stitches for this pattern:
- chain
- slip stitch
- single crochet
- half double crochet
- double crochet
I use embroidery floss to create the bookmark with a small crochet hook. Please note that working with the thinner thread + smaller hook if you haven’t done so before can certainly pose its challenges and take some getting use to!
Pattern includes a detailed material list of everything you will need and the quantities needed!
DIMENSIONS:
- Approx. Length: 6.5” (with an additional 4.5” decorative chain + tassel)
- Approx. Width: 2.5”
